    Mayoral welcome for TTI


    Chicago Mayor Richard Daley welcomed Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago to the city during a Friday, Sept. 19 news conference at the University Press Building. TTI at Chicago will officially open on Monday, Sept. 29, but the first faculty have already begun conducting research in their offices on the second floor of the Press Building. TTI at Chicago, a branch of TTI in Japan, specializes in graduate instruction and basic research in computer science. It is affiliated with but separate from the University’s Computer Science Department.
