Alumni Weekend to welcome graduates back to campus

    []
Alumni Reunion Weekend 2003 is set to take place Thursday, June 5 through Sunday, June 8, on the University campus. The weekend-long event will offer the traditional reunion activities of seminars, tours, exhibitions, receptions and celebrations. A sampling of those activities includes a seminar titled "Your Career: 2003 Realities;" two historical trolley car tours of Hyde Park and its surrounding communities and another highlighting the area's changing features; an alumni version of the annual Festival of the Arts on display in the Library lounge at Ida Noyes Hall; the College/Alumni Faculty Sherry Hour with host John Boyer, Dean of the College, in the McCormick Tribune Lounge in the Reynolds Club; and the annual Picnic with the President and Party on the Plaisance. The Alumni Association has created a theme for the Party on the Plaisance that will take alumni back to 1893, the year the World's Columbian Exposition took place on the Midway. In addition to these and other activities planned for the weekend, alumni also will gather on Saturday, June 7, for the traditional procession to Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, where members of the faculty and the alumni community will be honored with awards at the Alumni Assembly. Further information about Alumni Reunion Weekend 2003 is available at http://alumnireunion.uchicago.edu/. Paul Monsour (A.B., '87) and his tiny companion enjoy the festivities at last year's Alumni Reunion Weekend.
