ACCOLADES

Robert Bird, Assistant Professor in Slavic Languages & Literatures and the College, was honored for his translation in Viacheslav Ivanov, Selected Essays (2001), a collaborative effort with Michael Wachtel of Princeton University. The book won the 2002 prize for Best Translation into English from the American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages.

The association noted that the book “represents the state of the art in both scholarship and translation and is sure to become the definitive collection of Ivanov’s essays in English.”
