    Making headway at Ratner Center

Barry Quinn, the Development Manager for University Facilities Services, gives Paul Murtagh, Manager of Finance and Support Services at Facilities Services, a tour of the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center construction site. Workers have made headway on the project, which is on schedule for its fall 2003 completion. At left, the Myers-McLoraine Pool, funded by a gift from Helen Myers-McLoraine, is beginning to take shape. McLoraine’s gift, in excess of $5 million, has gone toward the construction of the University’s first new pool in 84 years. The pool will be 50- meters long and 25-yards wide and will have nine lanes, each representing a member of the University Athletic Association. The 24,700 square-foot natatorium housing the pool will seat approximately 400 spectators.
