    Constructive point of view

A crew assembles a new dome for the Yerkes Observatory’s 41-inch reflector telescope, which replaces the original dome that was installed when Yerkes was built between 1895 and 1897. The original telescope, a 24-inch reflector, was replaced in the 1960s with the 41-inch reflector. The new dome will reside near the much larger dome of the historic 40-inch refractor telescope, the world’s largest.
