    Reunion honorees


    The University welcomed its alumni community to campus last weekend for the annual Alumni Reunion. President Randel meets on the steps of Rockefeller Memorial Chapel with members of the alumni community who were honored with Alumni Association Awards, including Supreme Court Associate Justice John Paul Stevens (center, front row). Stevens received the University’s top alumni honor, the Alumni Medal. The weekend-long event also included a breakfast with Randel, faculty lectures and a picnic on the Midway Plaisance.


    The Alumni Association’s annual Reunion for members of the alumni community kicked off Saturday, June 1, with a breakfast with President Randel. During the weekend-long event, alumni were invited to attend faculty lectures and a picnic on the Midway Plaisance. At the picnic, Janet Rowley (top photo, at right), Interim Dean for Sciences and the Blum-Riese Distinguished Service Professor of Hemotology/Oncology in Medicine, Molecular Genetics & Cell Biology and Human Genetics, visits with Stephen Llewellyn of the Class of 1948. Following a ceremony in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, where some alumni were honored with the Alumni Association’s annual awards, Dean of the College John Boyer (directly above, at left) talks with Ray Suarez (A.M., ’92), who received a Professional Achievement Citation. Suarez is a broadcast journalist who currently is a senior correspondent on the PBS news program The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.
