Kimerly Rorschach, the Dana Feitler Director of the David and Alfred Smart Museum of Art, has been appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Art Museum Directors.

Other board members include directors of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art and Harvard University Art Museums.

The AAMD, which serves as a forum for museum directors to exchange information and ideas, currently has 170 active members and 29 honorary members in the United States, Canada and Mexico. “It is an honor for me and the museum to be on the AAMD board, which I believe will emphasize very well and very visibly the University’s commitment to leadership in the arts,” said Rorschach.

As chair of AAMD’s government affairs committee, Rorschach also will sit on the board of the American Arts Alliance, an organization that represents museums, theater, opera and dance organizations in Washington. “This affiliation should be especially advantageous to the University in the context of the Cultural Policy Program,” Rorschach added.
