    Rink is open to ice skating enthusiasts

    Ice skaters can pull on their mittens and lace up their skates this Winter Quarter at the skating rink and warming house on the Midway Plaisance.

    Open skating is free to the University community and the public from 12:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Fridays.

    Admission is charged from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Fridays, from 12:30 to 11 p.m. Saturdays and from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sundays. In addition, rat hockey (pick up) is offered from 8 to 9:30 p.m. every Wednesday. (Participants must bring their own equipment.) Skate rental fees apply at all times.

    The 2,800-square-foot, two-level warming house includes a skate rental desk, a cafÈ offering food and beverages, and a rooftop observation deck.
