    Reich breaks scoring record

Derek Reich, a third-year student concentrating in history and a forward for the Maroons, recently became the all-time leading scorer in Chicago’s 99-year men’s basketball history. Reich scored his record-breaking points during the Sunday, Jan. 20 game against New York University in the Henry Crown Field House. Reich scored 26 points in the game, aiding the team in its 71-49 victory over NYU. Since his record-breaking game, Reich has played in eight games and has increased his total points to 1,601, surpassing the previous mark of 1,406 held by Jerry Clark (1970 to 1974).
