Commitment to outreach

President Randel addressed the Saturday, Dec. 7 morning service at the headquarters of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition in Hyde Park. Randel accepted an invitation to address the large gathering from the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rainbow/PUSH Founder and President. Randel’s remarks stressed the values of reconciliation and cooperation and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to outreach to the minority community. Just days earlier, the University invited minority vendors to attend a one-day conference at which University staff provided information on a range of employment opportunities on campus.
