Symphony of Words

President Randel, a noted musicologist, and Daniel Barenboim, music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, followed up the Symphony of Words debut of 2000 with a second discussion titled “Wagner and Modernism,” this year at the Art Institute of Chicago. The two men spoke on Richard Wagner’s music, including Barenboim’s recent performance of Wagner’s music in Israel.
