    Seventeen students receive Fulbright-Hayes

    Sixty percent of the Universityís applicants for 2001-02 Fulbright-Hayes Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad fellowships received them, which marks another successful year for Chicago students. Twenty-nine students applied for the research fellowships and 17 received them.

    The University has been the No. 1 institution in the country to garner the most fellowships for the past 15 years. During this period, the Universityís applicants have netted between 12 and 19 awards of the 85 to 110 awarded nationally.

    The Chicago recipients of the 2001 Fulbright-Hayes Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad fellowships are: Catherine Adcock, Jovita Baber, Will Bennis, Julie Christ, Louis Fishman, Patrick Hatcher, Raymond Hernandez, Grace Huang, Catherine Krizancic, Guy Leavitt, Kate Lingley, Jeffrey Martin, Alexander Mawyer, Ajay Rao, David Sena, Edward Swenson and Ian Urbina.
