    Robertson named Associate Provost

Provost Geoffrey Stone announced Tuesday that Anne Robertson, the Claire Dux Swift Professor in Music and the College, has been appointed Associate Provost for Research and Education, effective July 1.

In addition to participating in all the general activities of the Provostís Office, Robertson will have special responsibility for the Laboratory Schools, the University Press, the Graham School of General Studies, the Library and issues relating to graduate education, wrote Stone in an announcement to the faculty and administrators.

A faculty member since 1984, Robertson has served two terms as Chair of the Music Department, as well as in many other administrative capacities both in the Humanities Division and in the broader University community.

Robertson’s scholarship focuses on music of the Middle Ages, and particularly music of 14th-century French composer and poet Guillaume de Machaut.

“She is a committed teacher, a splendid colleague and a distinguished scholar whose research in the field of Medieval musicology has earned her numerous awards and fellowships,” wrote Stone.
