    Celebration will follow inauguration

President Randel will be officially installed as the University’s 12th chief executive during a special inaugural convocation at 2:30 p.m. today in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. A procession, beginning at 2 p.m., at Kovler Gymnasium at the Laboratory Schools, will precede the convocation.

Seating in Rockefeller Chapel is available to those holding tickets, which were made available to students and staff through a ticket lottery. Although seating in the chapel is limited, all members of the campus community may watch a live telecast of the procession and ceremony in Max Palevsky Cinema and the Cloister Club in Ida Noyes Hall. As an additional viewing alternative, a live Webcast will be offered at http://inauguration.uchicago.edu.

After the convocation, members of the University community will celebrate Randel’s installation at a party at Ida Noyes Hall and the Midway Plaisance, where a tent will house food and entertainment throughout the evening.
