    From the inside out

As construction crews continue interior renovations of Bartlett Gymnasium into a dining commons, including filling in the pool, workers outside remove ivy from the exterior walls of the building. After the ivy is removed, masonry restoration specialists will remortar the joints and replace any damaged stones in the 96-year-old building. The exterior is Indiana limestone, which will be washed to restore its original color. The space behind the trophy in the photo above was once occupied by a professors’ exercise room, then the offices of the Athletics Department. In its third generation it will be a food preparation area for the dining commons.
