Scientific outreach Brian Koss, a graduate student in chemistry, recently gave hands-on demonstrations in the science laboratory at Hartigan Elementary School during an event the school held for students and their parents. Koss' demonstrations were an outreach activity of the University's Materials Research Science and Engineering Center, which is funded by the National Science Foundation.
