    Children’s rights are program topic

The Mandel Legal Aid Clinic at the University Law School will co-sponsor a one-day program on children’s rights Thursday, March 2.

Taking place at the Northwestern University School of Law’s Thorne Auditorium, 357 E. Chicago Ave., legal and academic experts will discuss the need for greater legal safeguards to protect children and examine pending legislation in Illinois that would require children have parents and attorneys with them during police interrogations.

The program will open with a reception at 8:30 a.m. and run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Other program sponsors are the Children and Family Justice Center of Northwestern University’s Legal Clinic and the Child Law Center at Loyola University, Chicago.

For more information or to register for the program, call (312) 915-7940 or send e-mail to phollan@luc.edu.
